This was another portfolio shoot. I’m working on trying to think less planned and more spur of the moment. It doesn’t always work, but I’m trying!
I also have a tendency to think I need to spend a lot of money on food and props to have a successful shoot or to get the perfect shot. So for this shoot, I challenged myself with $20 in hand to find a something at the farmer’s market that had vibrant color and great shape. I also limited myself to the props that I had on hand, keeping the cost to a minimum. The total bill amounted to a wapping $5 !!!
Going through this challenge really pushed me to get creative and see past the ingredient itself. There are a million ways these green peas could be photographed and I’m sure each way has been done before. I decided to go with a clean and modern look letting the green peas be the star.
Lesson learned! A great shoot CAN come from not spending very much.
