market report | 6

Sometimes I just can’t make it to the farmer’s market or I loose track of what day it is and forget entirely. By then it’s too late and the fridge is empty so I end up either buying over priced produce at the Whole Paycheck market or reasonably priced mediocre produce that has traveled near and far to big box retailers.

I’ve wanted to join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) for a long time, but I was constantly traveling for work and never knew when I’d be home in order to commit to something like that. I’m happy to say that I’m not traveling as frequently anymore and I’ve committed to one every other week through Farm Fresh To You. They have their main headquarters farm in Northern California and a sister branch farm about an hour North of Los Angeles.

Currently they grow 130 organic varieties between their two farms and also partner with surrounding farms to supply their customers with the freshest seasonal fruits and vegetables. They run things a little different in which you can customize your box and then they deliver it to your doorstep during the night while you’re asleep. I have to admit I was like a little kid on Christmas morning running down the stairs to see what Santa brought, opening the front door to see my box of fresh food sitting there brought a smile to my face and a little happy dance!
