Are there certain foods that you just didn’t like, but now eat them all the time? This has happened to me over the last several years with quite a few foods.
I hated avocados and now eat them a lot.
I still don’t like mushrooms, not sure if I ever could but I’ll keep trying.
I would cringe at the sight of sushi and now I crave it.
Fancy cheeses like Feta and Brie are growing on me, baby steps.
Oatmeal, ew…I use to think that was for ‘old’ people…I guess I’m old now because I love a good hearty bowl of it with lots of cinnamon, nuts, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, fruit, and a splash of almond milk.
I didn’t eat nuts because they would squeak on my teeth and gave the chills, like nails on a chalkboard. But give me any nut now and I’ll devour them if they are salted, unsalted, chocolate covered, yogurt covered, you name it they won’t last long.
Any kind of red meat on the rare side, chewy seafood like mussels, fish with bones, and chicken legs still freak me out.
My whole family are BIG coffee drinkers, they like it jet black or with a touch of milk. I however would opt for green tea. Everyone once in awhile I’ll get a sugared up, heavy on the milk/cream coffee. Gross I know, but I just can’t do black.
The only tap water I drink is from my mom’s kitchen sink.
Are you wondering why I’m listing out all the foods I use to hate and now learned to love? Well I’m happy to say I’ve got another one to add to the list! Grapefruit. I also thought this was an ‘old people’ food. While it still makes my face twinge and my tastebuds go crazy because of how tart and tangy it is, I like to enjoy half of one in the mornings.
